Pickin' Party Pictures - October 1st, 2005

Paul Moseley with Dave Duncan & Jim Volk

Jim Volk (with your club organizer, Palmer) did us a big favor by coming to the Pickin' Party to demonstrate his talents on acoustic guitar.
Here, Jim is pictured with our club cartoonist, Dan Collins...
Dena, traveling companion of the Moseleys and SUPER singer, making sure Jim Volk remembered his name tag...  (He really didn't want one... lol)
Paul and Lana Moseley are just down home fine people.
Paul and Dave Duncan tuning up for a wonderful concert of fine thumb picking.
Paul had some very nice stories of where he grew up in Western Kentucky and his musical influences - of which his most memorable was Mose Rager - who also was the inspiration of Merle Travis.
Dena Ashley and her husband Gerry drove down with Paul and Lana from Beaver Dam, KY - and, she just happened to have a first class voice.  She and Paul treated us to a few tunes.
Here I am with Lana, Dena and Lucky (that'd be Dena's husband Gerry - wink wink..)

(PLEASE NOTE ALL THE EMPTY CHAIRS, FOLKS!!!)

A big thanks to Arnie Alpert for taking these pictures - besides checking everybody in....
