Bob Saxton
knows the fret board just about as good as anyone in the business.
What a great performer, too. |
|
The audience was spell bound |
|
by Bob's playing. |
|
Bob was
looking over at me in amazement wonderin', "How can he play all
that without moving his fangers?" |
|
Dave Duncan enjoying a couple
with Bob. |
|
Chret Vickers
and Dave Duncan warming up and waiting their turn to go up with Bob. |
|
Charlie
Berwinkle is always a crowd favorite. |
|
Billy Tustin
couldn't wait to get his hands |
|
on that old
Grestch. The boy knows how to play, folks. |
|
Al Meyers and
Fred Kelly (Kelly Picks) enjoying Bob artistry. (Both pretty good
pickers in their own right.) |
|
Fred Kelly and
his lovely wife. |
|
Benny Trimble
(left - NJ) and Ed Potts (MI) have been friends since they were in Korea
together - and, now are big friends of OFGC. They had a blast. |
|
Billy Tustin,
Dave Duncan and Willis Crocket enjoying having their picture took... |
|
Chaz
Mechenbier shows Bob his stuff. His stuff is pretty good. |
|
Arnie Alpert,
Dave Sullivan, and Bob Cox look on. |
|
Jim Owens is a
new member from Chillicothe, Ohio. He and his family come up some
Tuesday nights to enjoy the Club Jam at Scotty MacBeans coffee house. |
|
We ain't all
old folks. This is our club cartoonist Dan Collins and his
daughter and boyfriend. (I wonder how much he had to pay them to
come??) (They were probably wondering what was keeping all these
old farts alive...) |
|
"No"
Moore is growing up on me folks. There he is trying to hide from
everybody. (Thumb pickin' ain't really all that cool...) |
|
Then we moved
the party upstairs for a club jam "pickin'-in-the-round."
Bruce Mock always plays some very nice tunes. |
|
John "Bigfingers"
Vorsky enjoying the pickin'. |
|
Bob Saxton
joined us for the jam, too. Jim Lafferty looks like he's trying
one of Bob's "tricks." |
|
We introduced
Bill Esch to finger style playing 4 years ago. Since, he has
learned just about every note of every tune on the Chet training video. |
|
Troy Herdman
is one of the most sought after bluegrass sidemen in Ohio - and, we
can't get him to pluck us one note... (Fortunately I get to pick a
couple with him in his basement from time to time.) |
Thanks to Ailene Duncan for taking these
pictures.... |
