A wonderful collection of classic hymns arranged by Craig and
played on what seems to be one of every type of guitar known to mankind -
sometimes two at a time: Kirk Sands electric classical, Del Vecchio
resonator, Taylor 514-C steel string, Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman
electric, Martin Shenandoah D-35 acoustic steel string. The sound quality
is unbelievable. (I made the mistake of listening to the album on my
computer speakers the first time. Dumb move. The sound presence and
clarity of his playing should only be savored on your best head phones.)
Most of his arrangements are the well known melodies
intersticed by wonderfully thought out arpeggios played perfectly in relaxed
reverence. However, every now and then he threw in a little "thumb
pickin' - just to make sure I'd buy the CD. (I would have anyway,
Craig...) It is a beautiful CD....
List of tunes: "Come Thou Fount", "Holy, Holy,
Holy", "Glory to His Name", Love lifted Me", Born
Again", "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", "Are You Washed in
the Blood", "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing", "Sweet Hour
of Prayer", "There's Something About That Name", "My Jesus I
Love Thee", "When We All Get to Heaven", "Jesus, Keep Me
Near the Cross", "Must Jesus Bear the Cross Alone."
