Vaughn Wiester's
"Famous Jazz Orchestra"

"Bob's Basement Jazz" Radio Show

Saturdays - 8 - 10 pm

Bob Larson's Radio Show - "Bob’s Basement Jazz"

WGRN, 94.1 FM on the dial. It’s a low-power FM station, and the signal may not reach all parts of Columbus, so if you can’t pick it up, you can still listen to it at the website, WGRN.ORG. Just click on the play button right below where it says “Now Playing”. The show will be airing Saturday nights, from 8 to 10 PM.

Bob will be playing jazz of all styles; hard bop, vocal, fusion, big band, latin, etc. Anything with a jazz influence may be a candidate.

Listeners on the internet can listen to the radio program anytime they want.

WGRN has now setup an archive area of Bob’s Basement Jazz. With this, you can listen to any one hour episode on the internet, at any time. No more of having to wait until Saturday night and then forgetting about it.

To access the area, you will need to go through the website of WGRN’s sister station, WCRS. To do that enter http://www.wcrsfm.org/wgrn (most of you can just enter wcrsfm.org/wgrn)

Once here, you can see a link to Bob’s Basement Jazz below. Click on this and you will see the latest hour that’s been uploaded. To see additional hours, click on Program archives with audio, text descriptions and photos.

Currently, there are about three pages of shows listed. They are listed in reverse date order. In addition, you can see the Artist - Song - Album for each artist played that hour. To play the jazz, just click the play button where it says Live Broadcast. Or, at the bottom of that hour’s listing, you can click on Download audio file to download it to your computer. Then play it on your computer’s MP3 player. Each file is a little over 100 meg.

This being a new setup, please let me know if you have any problems and I will pass it on to the technical staff at WGRN.

I hope everyone will please give it a listen. As the blurb at the top if each episode says, “I’ll be playing jazz of all styles; hard bop, vocal, fusion, big band, latin, etc. Anything with a jazz influence may be a candidate. I’ve been collecting music all of my adult life and now have the opportunity to share it. Also, there will be a lot of local artists, past and present.”
