Dear FJO Fans,

Regrettably FJO activities remain suspended, however there will be a few "safe" concerts at Becky's Jazz Barn, and Standard Time playing at Valley Dale Ballroom, below.

Standard Time is a very popular 6 piece combo that has been playing tunes from the Great American Songbook around the Columbus area for years.  The band consists of headmaster/trombonist, Matt Ellis - Byron Rooker, sax - Jim Luellen, keys - Sid Townsend, bass - Zsolt Dvornik, guitar - and, Pat Ankrum, percussion.  Prior to the COVID breakout they had been delighting quaint audiences once a month in the Main Gallery of the McConnell Arts Center for many years.  By popular demand, they will now be playing the "first Tuesday of every month" at Valley Dale Ballrom, 1590 Sunbury Rd, Columbus, OH 43219.

Bob Larson Radio Show - "Bob’s Basement Jazz"

WGRN, 94.1 FM on the dial. It’s a low-power FM station, and the signal may not reach all parts of Columbus, so if you can’t pick it up, you can still listen to it at the website, WGRN.ORG. Just click on the play button right below where it says “Now Playing”. The show will be airing Saturday nights, from 8 to 10 PM.

Bob will be playing jazz of all styles; hard bop, vocal, fusion, big band, latin, etc. Anything with a jazz influence may be a candidate.

Internet users can now listen to Bob's show anytime they want.  (click to read how)

Words of Wisdom from Vaughn

Regrettably it's time once again to suspend the Band's activities.  Needless to say, we will resume activities as soon as possible.  The will be when the CDC, the Woman's Club and the members of the Band agree.

Please stay in touch, AND be smart!
